2019-2020 SAGT Teacher Grants Awarded

The SAGT Grants  Committee is pleased to announce we have presented a check to the CISD School Board in the amount of $13,946 to be applied directly to the enrichment of the CISD GT Community!

This year SAGT awarded 8 teacher grants totaling $4,480 to teachers at Walnut Grove, Johnson, Rockenbaugh, Durham, Eubanks, Dawson, and the high school.  The money will be used to support gifted students in the classroom with items including alternative seating, writing programs, board games, desks, robotics, books, and coding games.

In addition, SAGT contributed $5,625 to help send 15 teachers the Texas Association of Gifted and Talented conference in San Antonio in November.  This conference provided continuing education and new, creative ideas for GT instruction.  SAGT also approved an expenditure of $3,841 for 5 GT teachers to attend International Baccalaureate training.

This contribution to the CISD GT program would not have been possible without the generous dues and donations of SAGT members.  Thank you so much for your financial support.  You have made a true difference in the lives of our children.
