Chess Tournament
for Grades 1-5 @ Mathnasium Southlake
SAGT Student Programs is excited to kick off the first ever Chess Tournament this school year. This is a no elimination tournament. Awards will be given for top point earners for each grade and all participants will receive a medal.

Details
Each student will play 4-5 short chess matches based on age. Points will be given for each match so this is a no elimination tournament. Awards will be given for top point earners for each grade and all participants will receive a medal. Snacks will be provided.
Fees and Requirements
SAGT Members - $5 per student
Non-Members - $10 per student

You must reserve your spot using the sign up links above. Payment is due at the time of registration. Seating is limited.
This is a STUDENT ONLY event supervised by SAGT Student Board members, Mathnasium staff and CISD student volunteers. We ask that parents enter the building with their child to check-in at the tables inside the entrance. Once checked in, we encourage parents to allow your child to attend this event independently.
Being identified as gifted is not a requirement for SAGT membership.
Being identified as gifted does not automatically enter a family into SAGT membership.
SAGT is a fundraising organization that supports the CISD GT Program
Membership for SAGT must be renewed each new school year to be current.

TAGT giftED25 Conference
SAGT sent our GT teachers to the TAGT GiftED conference in Grapevine. This annual event brings people together to explore focus areas like Program Design, Equity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and Collaboration.

Annual Welcome Coffee Event:
"Strengthen Family Connections"
The event was well attended by approximately 45 SAGT members. Siomara "Sadi" Monge LPC-S began her speech by exploring how parents can help strengthen executive function in high-achieving students. She then covered building foundations, elementary school strategies that work, middle school parent strategies, preparing for Independence for the high school and high school success strategies. Campus Fall Socials
Thank you to all who joined our fall socials! Every year our SAGT campus liaisons plan an individual gathering for each of the five Carroll ISD elementary schools. Parents and students in the Quest program meet at a local park to play and chat. We hope you enjoyed connecting with other GT Families.

Study Skills Sessions
The 2025 school year kicked off with our annual Study Skills Sessions. Students learned tips and tricks to get the new school year off to a great start and had a chance to ask questions of students who were in their place not long ago. The two sessions were a great success thanks to our amazing teacher, Leslie Andre, and our student panelists.
