We invite you to join Southlake Association of Gifted and Talented, a recently recognized CISD gifted academic booster club
which partners with the district in supporting the education of gifted and talented
(GT) students in the Quest and academically advanced programs. This is an exciting
time to promote CISD's GT and advanced academic students. Join us in our pursuit
of academic excellence.
Who should join the Southlake Association of Gifted and Talented?

You have a student in the GT program (Quest) or who has been identified as academically
gifted.

You have a student enrolled in Middle School pre-AP science or Gifted English.

You have a student enrolled in the Accelerated Math courses at the intermediate
or middle school.

You have an interest in supporting CISD's GT and advanced academic programs.
-
You appreciate having the most up-to-date district, state, and national level information
regarding gifted and advanced education.

You want access to nationally renowned speakers in the field of gifted education.
What does the Southlake Association of Gifted and Talented do during the year?

Partner with district in helping to provide resources for our GT and academically
advanced students

Presents a networking opportunity for parents and teachers in CISD

Support our GT families by offering SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted)
Gifted Parent Discussion Groups. Groups are currently being planned for the Fall
& Spring. Please contact

Offer forums with national & local experts to provide education to parents,
teachers, and counselors.

Fundraising for gifted and advanced academic programs

Frequent Collaboration with GT Coordinator and other CISD administrators

Representation on CISD's Gifted Program Advisory Committee (GPAC) that makes recommendations
to the School Board

Representation of CISD's District Advisory Council (DAC)

Implementation of student enrichment programs
